_v3 March 2003, (2)
520 _aThe Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) and English Heritage have published their joint guidance on tall buildings. The new "Guidance on tall buildings" follows on a consultation document issued in June 2001, which has been redrafted at the government's request to reflect the responses received during the consultation period and takes into account the Transport, Local Government and the Regions select committee report of July 2002 and the government's response to it. The document sets out the importance of a plan-led approach to locating the right tall buildings in the right places. It will assist the development of tall building policies and will be capable of being a material consideration in planning proposals. The guidance can be downloaded from http://www.cabe.org.uk/displayData.html/XLI-LibraryUsefulPDFsCABEPublicationsGuidanceontalbuildings2003.pdf?type=pdf&id=410 or can be ordered from English Heritage publications t +44 (0)870 333 1181 http://www.cabe.org.uk/JLKxLJwB+C2=nG4d9ihsTlw/news/press/press_release.html?press_release_id=211
