_v(pr024) 2 April 2003 (2)
520 _aRICS has published a study that reveals many of the 64 transport schemes may not even make the drawing board due to a gap in funding of around £35 billion. The research, "Funding London's transport needs", was carried out by GVA Grimley on RICS' behalf and as well as identifying the shortfalls in the current system, identifies 16 core schemes out of the 64, reducing the costs to £33-39 billion. The study goes on to suggest funding methods to make up the shortfall and examine the wider, regeneration effect of the schemes on London.
