| 520 | _aIndependent research underlines the benefits of the government's new agri-environment pilot scheme. The three-year Buzz project delivered by the Farmed Environment Company has reported that options available under DEFRA's new Entry Level Scheme and the existing Countryside Stewardship Scheme improve the biodiversity of farmland. Research sites around the country recreated different habitat options available under the schemes; these report that improvements in biodiversity can be achieved quicker than previously anticipated and skilled management of the habitat by farmers is crucial to its success.
