520 _aExamines the issue of flytipping; dumping is on the increase and private landowners are having to pay out more as legislation discourages people from disposing of all sorts of material. The aim of the legislation is to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill as government implements its waste strategy. Legislation examined inclides EU directives and regulations on landfill, ozone depleting substances, end-of-life vehicles and waste electrical and electronic equipment. Also looks at what landowners can do to combat the problem of flytipping and how to deal with dumped material. RICS had published a report "Dump and run" focusing on the typical waste dumped in the countryside and its implications for landowners and managers.
