520 _aThe recent hot weather has seen many managers and employees wondering about the problems of workplace temperatures. The law on this matter, The Workplace (Health Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 is not very helpful. It states that there is no maximum limit other than 'during working hours the temperature in all workplaces inside buildings shall be reasonable'. This is defined as one which would secure the thermal comfort of people at work. The TUC has issued some guidance on this.Copies of this guidance can be obtained by calling HSE Books on; t+44(0)1787 881165 or by going to: http://www.hse.gov.uk/.
