_v8 August 2003 (3)
520 _aThe latest CBI quarterly review of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in manufacturing shows that demand for their products has fallen continuously for two and a half years. Orders fell for the 10th quarter in a row with the smallest firms hit worst. Decline in output was the slowest for a year. SMEs were less optimistic about the business situation than three months ago. Job cutting has continued among SMEs at a slightly faster rate. Average costs rose at their fastest rate for two years while prices continued to fall at a sharp rate. http://www.cbi.org.uk/ndbs/press.nsf/0363c1f07c6ca12a8025671c00381cc7/1f1db364c129459180256d78003b2811?OpenDocument
