520 _aIndia Property Research (IPR) estimates that there is now 3m sq ft of new demand from London occupiers in India as financial services follow the trend to move operations to the developing world. IPR is run by EG Group's Geoff Marsh in London and Tanaji Chakrabati in India. These findings are backed up by research by consultant McKinsey and Co for the West Bengal government which reveals that 90% of the companies expressing interest in outsourcing operations in the region were from the UK. It is estimated that over 15m sq ft of office space in the UK will be lost to the Indian subcontinent.
