520 _aDescribes the National Land Property Gazetteer (NPLG) and Local Land Property Gazetteer (LLPG) projects which are part of the Prime Minister's implementation of the electronic government initiative which aims to enable individuals to communicate electronically with both central and local government by April 2005. A key feature of NLPG and LLPG is that every property in England and Wales will be allocated its own Unique Property Reference Number (UPRG). The NPLG links existing databases held by local authorities including the electoral register, planning, building control and local land charges with records of other agencies including Land Registry, Ordnance Survey and Royal Mail. The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) is piloting a scheme known as ValueBill which aims to join up local authority records and those held by the VOA using the NPLG as a framework of reference for property matters. Lists 10 local authorities taking part in the ValueBill pilot study. The planning portal and the National Land Information Service are also linked into the NPLG. Assess the impact of the NPLG and LLPG on the property market and on the way chartered surveyor conduct property transactions
