520 _aTells of a dispute between "IDE Contracting Ltd v RG Carter Cambridge" (TCC),[2004] BLR 172-178(7). IDE, a subcontractor began an adjudication for unpaid sums and issued a standard notice of adjudication. RG argued that the rules in The Scheme for Construction Contracts (SCE) had laid out an established procedure for finding a substitute adjudicator and this had not been followed. When the result of the adjudication were issued and a £120 147 award announced, RG refused to pay and IDE sought to enforce it in the HC and lost. Concluded that the SCE needs to be followed very precisely even if this goes against the common sense of the two parties.
