520 _aReports on the fourth quarter 2003 Emap Glenigan survey of new building submissions across England, Wales and Scotland. The survey reveals a substantial slowdown in many parts of the UK in 2003 despite the government's drive for new housing. Overall house builders want to construct more homes per site as submissions fell by a quarter to 173 but the number of units fell only marginally to 9 762 compared to 10 697 in 2002. Tables cover the top 10 house builders for each region.
