In law, the land boundary along the coast moves with the sea, the land being a moveable freehold, expanding and contracting under the influence of nature; the best exposition of this law being found in "Southern Centre of Theosophy v State of Southern Australia" ([1979] 145 CLR 246). Current government policy is to allow nature to take its course.
