520 _aOffers advice to APC candidates on how to prepare the 3 000 word critical analysis of a case which they have been involved in, which is submitted to RICS as part of the final assessment process. At the APC interview candidates are required to deliver a 10 minute presentation to a panel of three RICS assessors based on their critical analysis followed by around 10 to 15 minutes of interview questioning on both the analysis and the presentation. Advises on choice of case study suggesting that it is important to: strike a balance between simplicity and complexity; demonstrate ability; highlight objectives; and demonstrate how they were achieved. Presentation standards, good report writing skills and effective use of appendices are also discussed. Highlights the importance of competency selection. A former APC candidate lists questions from her interview to demonstrate the type of questions which might be asked. Further examples of interview questions, article references and other APC support material are available from the Midlands Property Training Centre at [email protected].
