520 _aStresses the importance for construction professionals for having a carefully worded contract before any work is started. If standard conditions are to be included in a contract the appendices must be completed. Illustrates this with reference to a recent case, "Bryen and Langley Ltd v Boston" ([2004] EWHC 2450 (TCC), Abs68430). Here a dispute arose over whether JCT conditions formed part of the contract, and this voided an adjudicator's decision that money was owed for a flat conversion that went well over the anticipated contract sum.
