520 _aDiscusses the definition of a dispute with reference to "Amec Civil Engineering v SoS Transport" ([2004] EWHC 2339 (TCC), unreported). This gave seven pointers to help identify a dispute which included the fact that the word dispute has no special or unusual meaning given to it by lawyers. Previous cases provide no hard rules on this issue but can give useful guidance. These propositions were endorsed by the CA in "Collins (Contractors) Ltd v Baltic Quay Management (1994) Ltd" ([2004] EWCA Civ 1757, The Times 3 January 2005).
