520 _aInterview with chartered surveyor, Roger de Boehmler, the driving force behind the PISCES data standard, which is bringing online conveyancing closer to being a reality now that PISCES and the Land Registry are working collaboratively on the next stages of the Land Registry's e-conveyancing strategy. PISCES was formerly in competition with OSCRE, another data standard, but became the European arm of the worldwide OSCRE organisation two years ago. PISCES has almost reached the number of members it needs to become central to the conveyancing process but is not without its critics in the property industry. Adobe, the software giant, has joined PISCES seeking a market for its Intelligent Document Platform, which could combine Adobe's PDF with PISCES XML-based standard, to become the open data standard for government and industry.
