520 _aHigh-quality parkland brings with it a range of benefits to communities. Sets out five key facets of successful green space regeneration, the results of which more than repay the investment: long-term revenue funding for parks and the establishment of charitable trusts to generate a variety of income streams; active community involvement; management of parks moving from local authorities to alternative forms of governance such as the 'friends of' concept; design of parks to deter anti-social behaviour problems; and meeting the skills shortage in the green space regeneration sector. Notes that less than 50% of local authorities have a green space strategy despite potential benefits.
