| 520 | _aDiscusses the forthcoming consultation on the revised Approved Document B on the fire resilience of buildings in relation to a study carried out by Ove Arup for the Association of British Insurers. The study mapped each part of the regulations to establish their intersections and to look at their impact beyond improving the UK building stock. Looks at the interrelation between cost effectiveness, sustainablity and social, economic and environmental benefits. Concludes that improvements to Part B will affect virtually all other aspects of the Regulations and that the wider impacts of hazards such as fire and flooding and the interrelationships between the different parts of the Regulations need to be understood for cost effective improvements can be made to the performance of buildings. | ||
