_v123(4169) September 2005, 4(1)
520 _aFirst in a series of articles looking at the proposed changes to the CDM regulations and the Construction (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1996. Considers proposals that the clerk of works would be the best to be what is known as the co-ordinator. Outlines what the work of the co-ordinator would be and what experience and qualifications would be required. The clerk of works fits most of the requirements. However there may be some dispute as to his competency where the co-ordinator needs to harmonise the various designs involved in the project.
