| 520 | _aExamines low-impact developments (LIDs), a groundbreaking model of sustainable rural living, and how they are beginning to secure a significant level of support from planning officials. They are defined as developments that through low negative environmental impact either enhance or do not significantly diminish environmental quality. They usually take the form of low-key agriculture or permaculture carried out in a sustainable way.
