_vFourth Quarter 2005)
520 _aThe latest construction market survey from RICS reveals a steady growth in construction activity, despite a weak private house building sector. Growth in this sector was noticeably slower than in the previous quarter, but there were significant gains in both private industrial and commercial workloads, indicating that the mild slowdown in economic growth has come to an end. Overall workloads were boosted by investment in public housing and infrastructure projects. Confidence in the future has improved markedly, although concerns about cost pressures, especially wage and energy prices, remain.
