520 _aReports on the use of Cathodic Protection (CP) to reverse rusting in steel-framed buildings. The technique involves the installation of artificial anodes which effectively turns the steel into a cathode and renders it immune from further corrosion. CP is both less expensive and intrusive than other methods, and a series of seminars is being held at the RICS to raise awareness of the technique among surveyors who manage buildings.
