RICS has released a consultation paper (L132606) setting out its proposed regulatory strategy with a 13 March 2006 deadline for feedback. The consultation paper has its origin in the April 2005 Carsberg report on the regulatory role of the RICS (L129322). RICS proposes splitting its regulation and representation arms into separate divisions and changing its regulatory philosophy. Deals also with RICS' move to secure its status as an approved body for the regulation of insurance business thus rescuing its members from the expense and burden of Financial Services Agency insurance business regulation. RICS wants to become the regulatory provider of choice in the property sector
