520 _aPresents the full results of the March 2006 (HBF) regional survey of house builders. March showed a continued improvement in both visitor numbers and reservations. Although the rate of acceleration appears to have slowed market conditions are considerably better than a year ago. New home prices rose in March for the third successive month and the industry is extremely confident that sales volumes and prices will rise in the year ahead. Buyer confidence has become a less significant constraint on demand. Planning delays remain the major factor holding back supply and land prices and availability are also problematic.
