520 _aWith the appointment of the first "Minister for Inner Cities", and the boost to inner-city development from the Government, this article examines prospects for the inner cities . Begins by identifying the roles played by the DTI and DoE with the establishment of Urban Development Corporations , Enterprise Zones land registers and Housing Action Trusts , regional aid and development, before outlining the difference between the various grants available to the private sector, and how to get them. Also looks at possibilities for co-operation between the private sector and Government, and concludes with a look at the various UDCs, summarising details of land available, planned projects and budgets available.
