520 _aConsiders recent case law applying the European Convention on Human Rights Art 6 principles to arbitration and the courts' participation through the Arbitration Act 1996. In particular, discusses the issues in "Sumukan Ltd v Commonwealth Secretariat" (27 February 2006, unreported), "Stretford v Football Association Ltd" ([2006] EWHC 479 (Ch), All ER (D) 275), "AstraZeneca Insurance Co Ltd v CGU International Insurance plc" ([2006] EWCA Civ 1340, L135724), and "ASM Shipping Ltd of India v TTMI Ltd of England" ([2006] EWCA Civ 1341, L135723). These decisions confirm that while Convention principles can be used in the arbitral context, they will only rarely give rise to ground for legal challenge.
