520			_aA major review of the Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) has been launched to ensure the scheme is meeting the current needs of the industry. Key proposed changes include a new CPCS technical test for all entrants to the scheme, the health and safety test coming at the start of the qualification process, and removing age and experience criteria. The consultation period will run until May 2007 and revised plans for the scheme are likely to be unveiled between July and September 2007.
