Over the next 12 years, the UK government alone will spend £18bn in Northern Ireland, with the construction of new roads, hospitals and schools. There are also large projects in the pipeline such as plans to build a sports stadium on the site of Maze Prison, and the Strategic Investment Board is urging British firms to cross over from the mainland. However, concerns over security and the market?s size are putting British firms off.
