| 520 | _aReports the current situation of HIPs. The main reason for the delay is the RICS judicial review. A shortage of EPC inspectors also contributed. Transitional measures were announced to introduce HIPs for properties with four or more bedrooms from 1 August. This represents around 20% of the market. The government is still committed to introducing HIPs across the market when inspector numbers are sufficient. Under current legislation properties may be marketed when an HIP is commissioned, but before it is completed. Initial feedback from the judicial review implies a slackening of age restrictions on EPCs. | ||
