520 _aDiscusses the case of Chiltern District Council V Webb. Members of a travelling fair sought to use agricultural land permanently using hard-surfaced plots for their mobile homes. The application was rejected by the Secretary of State in 2002. In 2004 the fair moved onto the site. In 2007 the council applied for an injunction to clear the site. The High Court granted this. However it was suspended pending the outcome of a further planning application by the fair. Based on a government circular calling for more land for travelling showpeople this may be successful.
