520 _aAnnounces an ideas competition which will be run by the DCLG, in order to develop and set design standards for ten new eco-towns. The purpose is to engage leading creative thinkers on urban, architectural and landscape design in the project, which will result in the creation of up to 20 000 new homes. The government's panel will be assisted by CABE, RIBA and the Prince's Foundation. The competition is to focus on the design and development process as well as design ideas. It also aims to gather ideas on what eco-towns can achieve, housing layouts and sustainability features.
