Overall new work increased over the same period, with increases in all sectors apart from public non-housing and infrastructure output. Repair and maintenance work remained unchanged with a rise in the private non housing sector counterbalancing falls in the other sectors. In the third quarter of 2007, output increased by 1% compared to the second quarter of 2007 in volume terms and by 2% in current prices.
