520 _aThe latest Experian Business Strategies' "Focus survey of construction activity" reveals that activity levels in December 2007 remained stable, with the overall activity index at 58 for the third consecutive month. The orders index increased to 60, the tender enquiries index rose to 59, and employment prospects were also strong. Non-residential construction was the strongest sector, although the residential sector performed better than the previous month and civil engineering made a comeback. However, the downward trend that started mid-2007 is expected to continue into 2008.
