520 _aReports on Gardiner and Theobald's latest annual "International construction cost survey". Reveals that average building inflation for 23 countries in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and North America dropped from 6.2% in 2006 to 5.6% in 2007. Most of the global construction cost escalation came from six eastern European countries and Finland, whereas inflation across nine western European countries (excluding Finland) and eight countries in Asia, Africa, North America and the Middle East cooled (with the exceptions of China and Argentina). Tables show international building costs for offices, industrial, residential and retail, labour rates, building supply prices, and inflation rates and forecasts.
