520 _aThe Experian Business Strategies' "Focus survey of construction activity" of October 2008 reveals that conditions continue to be difficult in the construction industry, with activity level and orders still declining. The activity index remained at 33. The residential sector is the most affected by the reduction of activity. Its order index fell to 37, its lower level since 1992. For regional results, 7 regions out of 11 had a decline in their composite factors. The North's index is the strongest at 62. East Midlands' index was the only one to rise. The North-west's index remained the weakest, at 26. Shows the regional performances.
