520 _aReports the results of a research done by researchers of Oxford University to determine the number of deaths from lung cancer due to radon in the home, the cost efficiency of alternative policies and their success in reducing lung cancer mortality. Explains that the policy of following basic measures to control radon in new homes is cost effective. Finds that it would be beneficial to extend it to the entire UK as the current measures of identifying and remedying homes are not efficient in reducing lung cancer mortality nor so cost effective. Concludes that these measures would be advantageous to most developed countries.
