520 _aDetailed article looks at legal matters relating to consultation and authorisation of large-scale infrastructure projects and discusses the introduction of both a new regime for nationally significant infrastructure projects and the newly formed Infrastructure Planning Commission. The author also explores community involvement in consultation, recent case law and challenges to development. He states that while these measures and others from the Planning Act 2008 are positive (as they promote resolutions over conflict), they are not a perfect solution to consultation and conflicts in relation to major developments.
