520 _aThe latest Bank of Scotland Rural Housing Review suggests that house prices in rural areas have fallen by less than in urban areas over the past year. The average house price in rural Scotland dropped by 11% over the last year, compared to an average 13% fall in urban areas. Despite the fact that housing affordability has improved in rural areas, the average rural house price of £166 813 is now 17% higher than that in urban areas, where the average is £143 454, compared to 14% higher a year ago.
