Surveys bank lending in Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands with German banks active in many markets whereas few domestic lenders are providing finance. Bank lending is rising alongside asset values in the Central and Eastern European region. Mezzanine debt is seen as new gap in the market.
