520 _aFeed in Tariffs Scheme (FIT) introduced in April 2010 incentivises small scale low carbon electricity generation. Notes how social landlords and local authorities are reporting many approaches from companies who are offering free photovoltaic panels on their roofs. This is given more urgency by the fact that the introductory rate for tariffs (a set rate of 41.3p for every kilowatt per hour generated, plus 5p per kilowatt per hour for each unit sold back to the grid) is being reduced from 31 March 2012.
