Explains how it can enable projects to proceed without undue delay or expense and the most suitable situations for its use. Points out that the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 which applies to all construction contracts will be amended by the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 which although leaving adjudication provisions unchanged abolishes the requirement for construction contracts to be in writing.
