Tesco signals its unwillingness to pay more for distribution shed sites with sustainability features such as rail freight terminals. The larger UK airports seem to be recovering from the recession and attractive growth prospects are set to return. Air freight traffic at Heathrow has increased by 15% year on year with up to 1.47 m tonnes of freight going in and out of the airport in 2010. Prime rents at Heathrow are now £24/sq ft within the perimeter and £12 sq ft just outside.
