Only Royal Bank of Scotland entered the APA's Protection Scheme launched in January 2009 to insure UK banks from excessive losses on toxic assets, putting up £39bn of property loans to be insured. The total amount of loans covered by the APA scheme has fallen from £39bn to £27bn. | ||
