520 _a£8.03bn was invested in UK property in Q1 2012, down from £8.6bn at the same time last year. Overseas investors had the largest share of this activity at 43.8% (£3.52bn) by value with the United States US the largest overseas investor, followed by the Middle East and the Far East. The average lot size was £27.67m down from £33.2m in Q4 2011. Offices at 46% continued to be the favorite sector to buy followed by industrials at 11%. Overseas investors were the largest sellers at 23.8% by value followed by UK listed property companies at 19.2%. Average initial yields mostly saw some compression in Q1 2012.
