520 _aAdvises landlords and property managers and agents on procedures for ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Immigration Act 2014 which has been rolled out in pilot areas in Birmingham, Walsall, Sandwell and Wolverhampton on 1 December 2014. It is expected that it will be rolled out to all areas later in 2015. Landlords and those involved in the management of property must verify identity of all perspective tenants including British nationals aged 18 or over by checking a list of prescribed documents which must be originals in their presence and must retain copies and record date checks were made. Where a perspective tenant is unable to provide evidence of his/her rights to stay in the UK, the Landlord Checking Service should be contacted to see if the person has a right to rent in the UK whilst his/her application is being considered by the Home Office. Where the landlord or agent becomes aware that a tenant no longer has any entitlement to remain in the UK he/she should contact the Home Office
