CABE publishes statement on urban design codes

The think-piece examines urban coding and illuminates some of the key questions posed, such as how might codes work best in the UK. It recommends that the government should proceed with caution in expanding the use of codes with a balance struck between ensuring the basics are right such as street width and distances between buildings but are not too prescriptive because they may smother creativity.
