In the three months leading to December 2008, levels of construction orders were unchanged compared with the previous quarter. Orders rose by 5% in the fourth quarter of 2009 compared to the fourth quarter of 2008. Orders in 2008 fell 13% compared to the amount of orders in 2008. Orders in the private housing sector rose by 20% in the quarter leading to December 2009 compared with the same period in 2008. Housing association orders rose by 38% in the quarter leading to December 2009 compared with the same period in 2008.
