This mixed-media pack presents information and guidance to enable a wide range of people involved with the construction industry to stay within the law relating to wildlife, and to understand and implement good practice in protecting wildlife on development and construction projects. The first section describes how to use the pack and how to implement the training sessions. Includes: background notes on the fundamentals of ecology; an introduction to legislation governing wildlife and construction issues; practical guidance on dealing with wildlife on sites; and references and a gazetteer of useful organisations. Supporting materials include: briefing sheets on individual species and the different types of habitat; toolbox talks; and a quiz for training session delegates. A 32-page pocket book (publication C613) is included in the pack. An accompanying CD Rom is available for reference use in the library.
