The following compares the total output volume for the three months from February 2012 to April 2012 with that of the same three months one year earlier, in constant prices, not seasonally adjusted: Overall, the volume of construction output decreased by 6.7 per cent. Of the two main components, new work fell by 9.5 per cent and repair and maintenance fell by 1.4 per cent. The largest decreases were new public non-housing excluding infrastructure (22.4 per cent) and new public housing (22.1 per cent). Non-housing repair and maintenance showed the largest percentage growth, increasing by 1.1 per cent.
