£1.3m boost to encourage enterprise

Six housing asociations in the northeast, Humber and Yorkshire are to receive support from the Phoenix Fund which promotes enterprise in disadvantaged areas. The projects will provide £1.35m of aid over two years for start-ups, existing small businesses and social enterprises. They will be centred on the government's designated Enterprise Areas within Gloucester/Cheltenham, Newcastle, Hartlepool, Sunderland, Halifax and Bradford/Leeds.
