"Opening the door to property: assessing the needs of small investors in property" has been published. The research report was commissioned jointly by the British Property Federation, Investment Property Forum and RICS and reveals that small investors have £35bn ready for commercial property. Apparently there are at least 6.5m active individual investors in the UK. While 54% of them are aware of commercial property's recent out-performance of equities and bonds, only 5% would even consider investing in more commercial property products in the next 12 months.
